10 Ways To Relieve Foot Pain For Plantar Fasciitis

It can be time-consuming to manage the pain from plantar fasciitis. So, we've complied 10 fast and effective remedies that can relieve heel and arch pain in no time! Simply take 15 minutes every day to do the following methods.

1. Massage your feet.

Use a golf ball, tennis ball or a mobility ball. Roll the ball beneath your foot while applying a good amount of pressure. Apply enough pressure on tender spots for several seconds before continuing rolling the ball. This helps to distract pain receptors of the brain, send blood flow to the arch and heel and breaks down improperly healed tears on the plantar fascia ligament.

2. Slip on an Ice Pack
Icing reduces heel pain from plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. Use inexpensive Ice pack slippers which mold to the bottom of your foot and provide relief when needed.

3. Stretch
Stretching helps to reduce plantar fasciitis pain because it improves flexibility and strength of the plantar fascia ligament. Simply place your foot against the wall diagonally and apply pressure against the wall to stretch for a few seconds.

4. Try Dry Cupping
Dry cupping uses a cup on the skin and create a vacuum to apply negative pressure on the affected spot. This increases blood flow to the area, which reduces pain and heals the plantar fascia. It simply takes 10 minutes using inexpensive cupping kits.

5. Use Toe Separators
Toe separators elongate shrunken tendons that become short and tight, while uncurling the toes properly. They also provide foot pain relief and strengthen plantar fascia ligament.

6. Use Sock Splints at Night, and Orthotics During the Day
If you're on your feet all day, use orthotic inserts to cushion your feet. This helps to reduce foot pressure and relieve pain. If you're sitting most of your day, use a soft sock splint to keep your feet gently stretched. This helps to relieve foot pain while keeping your feet comfy!

7. Try TENs Therapy
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, or TENS remedy, is a new treatment for plantar fasciitis that stimulates the nerves in the feet with small doses of electrical current to improve blood flow to the plantar fascia ligament. They can be worn like a pair of sandals or small attachments to the feet.
Evidence has shown that TENS therapy helps reduce inflammation and stiffness to the plantar fascia. This helps to reduce pain while walking.

8. Strengthen Your Feet With a Washcloth
Place the washcloth in front of your feet. Pull the washcloth undernearth your feet using only your toes. This exercise helps to strengthen and build weak muscles in the feet that contribute to plantar fasciitis.

9. Roll Your Feet with a stainless steel Water Bottle
Similar to the ball stretch, place your water bottle and roll between the heel and ball of your foot ten times before switching sides. Apply enough pressure on tender areas.

10. Wear shoes with stiffer soles at the start and gradually switch to shoes with flexible soles
Stiffer soles help to prevent unnecessary pain from plantar fasciitis when you walk at the start.
